Robert Taylor’s dramatic image illustrates the extreme threat posed by the German U-boats as U-333, commanded by Commander Peter Cremer, rendezvous with another U-boat to scour the horizon for potential targets. The average life expectancy of a U-boat sailor during World War II was a mere 60 days. This print is signed by one of the the few surviving U-boat commanders, Peter Cremer. He was the holder of Germany’s highest award, the Knight’s Cross. In the last weeks of the war he was the personal bodyguard to Hitler’s successor, Admiral Dönitz. This is a limited edition print 860/1000 signed by the artist Robert Taylor and Peter Cremer. This fabulous print is double matted and professionally framed in a cherry wood frame with black and gold details.

Offshore Bombardment

Offshore Bombardment is one of the most powerful and well executed naval paintings depicting events at sea during World War II. This Print shows Prinz Eugen unleashing her terrible broadside against Russian land positions in the Baltic during the final months of the war in 1945.  The Prinz Eugen took part in the sinking of H.M.S. Hood and later the Channel Dash.
